{Ohhhhhhh goooooood nooooooooo}

Ok, this looks like an article from a teen-bop magazine, and we all know how reliable those actually are….they aren’t. So, in light of this, I would like to bring up a major, MAJOR point:
DREAMWORKS AND DISNEY ARE RIVALS!!!! They are not going to get together because fans of this pairing just love it, they have their own agenda in mind. Everything about them is different anyway. Disney does Disney princesses and Dreamworks does not. They’re just different companies and this is just an insult for what they do and what people will reduce them to.
"We’re the fans, so we must influence what they make!" WRONG. They do what they want. Yes, they do keep the public audience in mind when creating their movies, but they make what they want to make.
Another point that I would like to bring up is that I don’t see that this pairing would actually work. If you ship them together, great, whatever, I don’t care (until this shit happens), but it just seems like a weird pairing.
Jack Frost has been ignored for 300 years, but he learned how to have fun with what he had. After the events of RoTG, Jack is now not only in a position that he has a new family, but now he can be seen. For being ignored for over 300 years, I don’t think he would be looking for a romantic relationship. He would just want a friend/new family member. Plus, only children can see Jack, Elsa is in her twenties, so no.
Elsa is sort of in the same boat, if not a more traumatizing one. She has grown up pretty much her whole life in fear of people and of her own sister. Afraid that she’d be shunned by them or that she would unintentionally hurt someone. At the end of Frozen, you can still see that fear and uncertainty in her eyes. Yes, she not a prisoner in her home and her sister and her are friends, but there’s still a lot of trust that has to be built. She’s going to be hesitant around someone new, even more so if this person was invisible to everyone else but her. Heck, they’d probably think she had made a ‘friend’ when she was hiding away. So for Elsa, it’s the need to make a connection with her sister more than with a spirit.
One last thing: the reasoning behind the Jack and Elsa ship, at least the reason for why they are in a relationship.
They can make ice and snow…..
Really?
That’s it?
That’s all you need to have a relationship? No. There needs to have relationship built, not “Hey you can make ice too!? Lets fuck!” NO. Even if there are fanfictions out there that have this building of a relation, the fact that this ship even exists because they can make ice is a bad base for a relationship.
If you ship it, find, more power to you. But when I’m forced to see articles like this and people taking them so seriously that it has to be something that everyone has to love, I get pissed.
They won’t make a cross over movie like this, this pairing makes no sense, and the characters have their own hardship to go through before a relationship should be forced onto them.

Reblogging again for the commentary!!

I was going to pretend like this doesn’t annoy me but sorry, yeah, it does.
You literally had me so with you at first. The points you were making about Disney and Dreamworks being different companies with different agendas that do what they want were so spot on, right along with how the fans are cool to ship stuff without reducing the companies and the people who come up with these incredible stories down to “we want to see this pairing together” things. Have some respect and whatnot.
But then right after saying “if you ship them that’s fine, great, whatever, I don’t care” you literally proceed to bash them (albeit maybe not as blatantly as you could have) and rip apart every single aspect of the ship. It’s one thing not to ship it and explain why you think so, but it’s another to literally be like “your ship sucks, it makes no sense, and here’s why:” that’s just rude.
There are so many different Jelsa shippers out there. Ones that roleplay and ones that don’t. Ones that just like them because they both make ice and snow, and ones that have literally used roleplaying as a way to branch out the characters and explore different facets of them; take them in different directions.
Like this is why I really don’t have any NOTPs. Like unless it’s so insanely unhealthy that I have to make it one just because I feel it’s that harmful, I literally am cool with any and all ships because man, let people ship what they fucking want to. Why do you even care what their reasoning is? Do you want someone to grill you and quiz you on why you ship every single god damn pairing you do? Do you want someone asking for detailed essay on every thing you’ve ever liked?
There are Jelsa shippers that see them in the early stages. Jack meeting Elsa when they’re both so alone; before they’ve yet to have these adventures and they meet each other. They learn to lean on one another. Elsa sees Jack when she’s younger; Elsa grows up believing in Jack. There are those that see them in the future, long after the events of one of both of their movies. Elsa hearing word about this ‘Jack Frost’ legend and starting to believe in him for some reason, after the Frost spirit, who’d happened upon her, started to find ways to instill evidence he was there. (Think like the bunny thing with Jamie.)
Like there are literally so many endless opportunities when it comes to ships, and Jelsa is not immune to that. Especially since it’s a crossover ship. People play around with timelines and stuff all the time with characters and manage to create some beautiful ships.
But none of that should even matter. So what if we like their dynamic - either both lonesome and helping each other through the world or Jack, guardian of fun, trying to help serious queen Elsa to loosen up? So what? Why do you even care?
Seriously I just wish more people on this website (not you, in general) could just grow the fuck up with your stupid little “NOTPs” because blah blah blah wine wine” and understand that not everyone likes what you like and not everyone hates what you hate and that’s okay.
